Setup Existing Laravel website and run on Ubuntu 14.04

i have installed Laravel 5 on my Ubuntu 14.04 machine with Nginx as webserver.

The standard installation of Laravel works fine and correctly, since when i start it with

    php artisan serve

it launch the server on localhost:8000 and i can reach it normally.

Now my issue is that i do not understand how to run my actually existing website written in Laravel. I have a website, that we can call "ReadyWebsite", written in Laravel but i'm quite lost about to do this.

Do i need to put my ReadyWebsite in Laravel root folder or what?

I followed the DigitalOcean tutorial on how installing laravel and modifying nginx settings.

Any help with my noob question is really appreciated since i cannot find any out of the box answer on the internet.
