Deposits and withdrawals form a cryptocurrency exchange?

How to implement deposit and withdrawl functionality in a cryptocurrency exchange. Lets say i develop exchange trading engine in php, then how can i manage deposits and withdrawals to user wallets on exchange. Is it secure to run some shell scripts directly from php for deposits and withdrawals, like bitcoind. What are main security concerns to consider??

I am planning to develop one with Laravel 5.5, is it a good choice???
