I've a created a login page using you tube tutorial. It showed me creating the login procedure via some packages. I have forgot what it was.
Now what I want to do is save the username, role and name in session variable if the user is valid user. How can I do this? It is the code created from that package installation.
controller code LoginController.php
<?php
namespace App\Http\Controllers\Auth;
use App\Http\Controllers\Controller;
use Illuminate\Foundation\Auth\AuthenticatesUsers;
class LoginController extends Controller
{
use AuthenticatesUsers;
/**
* Where to redirect users after login.
*
* @var string
*/
protected $redirectTo = '/book';
/**
* Create a new controller instance.
*
* @return void
*/
public function __construct()
{
$this->middleware('guest')->except('logout');
}
}
code for AuthenticatesUsers.php
<?php
namespace Illuminate\Foundation\Auth;
use Illuminate\Http\Request;
use Illuminate\Support\Facades\Auth;
use Illuminate\Validation\ValidationException;
trait AuthenticatesUsers
{
use RedirectsUsers, ThrottlesLogins;
/**
* Show the application's login form.
*
* @return \Illuminate\Http\Response
*/
public function showLoginForm()
{
return view('auth.login');
}
/**
* Handle a login request to the application.
*
* @param \Illuminate\Http\Request $request
* @return \Illuminate\Http\RedirectResponse|\Illuminate\Http\Response|\Illuminate\Http\JsonResponse
*
* @throws \Illuminate\Validation\ValidationException
*/

$this->validateLogin($request);
// If the class is using the ThrottlesLogins trait, we can automatically throttle
// the login attempts for this application. We'll key this by the username and
// the IP address of the client making these requests into this application.
if ($this->hasTooManyLoginAttempts($request)) {

}

// to login and redirect the user back to the login form. Of course, when this
// user surpasses their maximum number of attempts they will get locked out.
