Is this good approach to have own Service Provider?

In Laravel we already have the required service providers like AppServiceProvider Application related or AuthServiceProvider - Authentication related in my case Passport .

But is it a good approach that instead of changing in this core service providers, we write our own ServiceProvider (Project specific) and then write the Passport or other application project related configuration n the custom service provider.

Please suggest
