How to add column to existing table in laravel without commands or migrations or Can we directly add column to table in database

I'm new to laravel framework. For making blog URL's to SEO friendly, I need to add an extra column to existing blog tables for laravel website. Can we directly add a column to a table in the database or not. Or else suggest an easy method to add the column
