Wise to update Bootstrap for UI and then Laravel for framework

Just to double-check: am I correct in assuming that it doesn't really matter what version of Bootstrap you are using with regards to using Laravel?

What I mean is that our Laravel installation is 5.2 (which is old) and our bootstrap is also old.

We want to launch a new UI/UX experience but keep our older legacy version of Laravel until we can update that codebase too.

Can anyone see anything wrong with the above?
