Determine which controller made the change in an observer

I have two sets of controllers for each model. One is PostsController and the other is Api\PostsController with API routes and everything.

While in an observer PostsObserver@updated is there a way for me to know where the change came from (API controller or app controller)?

And if not, what's the best way to convey this information to the observer?
