how to write restful API for android to mySQL communication in PHP laravel 5?

I'm developing a android application for which i have to write restful API's by using Laravel (PHP framework). I have little bit knowledge of Laravel. can any one tell me any free sources to learn how to write API's in laravel ? any free recommended book you know? kindly help me.
