Laravel: Authentication Sentinel case sensitive username

I've been using this package http://ift.tt/1e4R6wc for user Authentication. I changed the login attributes to username instead of email.

I understand that if you are using email then case sensitiveness does not matter (http://ift.tt/2ihfajv), but with username it does. So when I have a username of root and I login with ROOT it still works as long as the password is correct.

Is there any way to change back the case sensitiveness?
