Prevent open same link in another browser tab

I have a small Laravel project and in which I need to use Session variables.

Because session variables are contaminating the other browser tabs if the user open the same app in multiple tabs, I'm looking for a java script method or even a controller check (for the main page) so when the user open the home page of the app to be stopped by an error message like "The app is already opened in another browser tab"

How could I achieve that?
