How to create project in laravel with Comopser

I want to create my project/folder with command C:\xampp\htdocs>composer create-project laravel/laravel laravel "5.1.*" on my local host but this error occur.

[Composer\Json\JsonValidationException] "./composer.json" does not match the expected JSON schema:

• name : Does not match the regex pattern ^a-z0-9/a-z0-9$

How can i resolve this. I am new in Laravel and its my first project.
