Access direcly json data has a object

I have a table where one of the columns is has data type "json", the columns calls payment_data, and inside of it i have a json object like the above:

{"success":true,"status":0,"resposta":"OK","referencia":"44304425","entidade":"5555"}

I checked on a example online that i could call directly in laravel using the example above:

But it doesnt work so i guess is not right, is there a helper available to get directlty the information?
