Looking for advice on how to build a relational search engine

I'm currently working on a project, and we're trying to build a search engine. It involves pretty much the basic stuff; name searching, by location and such.

But at the same time, each of these profiles are related to a certain skillset. So the idea is, that if you search for a skill (e.g. "Woodworking"), you'd receive a list of people who do it.

I'm uploading a picture of my database schema: http://ift.tt/2u67Q1j And also how the search works: http://ift.tt/2u6CK9X

I'd like to know what's the best way to build this, as I'm still unsure how SQL query should be built.

Thanks a lot guys!
